Established in 2002, Redhead Couriers is highly reliable and family-run express courier that specialises in general haulage, carrying almost anything and everything- with the exception of ADR. The business holds an upper tier waste carriers license.
The Essex based business provides a first class courier service throughout both the UK and Europe, continuously striving to fulfil the individual requirements of its clients with the use of modern technology, diligent drivers and its thirteen years of experience in the industry. Redhead Couriers has accumulated an impressive portfolio of clients during its career, servicing businesses within the following industries: print, financial, medical, construction, automotive, aviation and retail.
Redhead Couriers owns a mixed fleet of vehicles, ranging from 18 tonne Euro 3 Iveco Lorries and 7.5 tonne Euro 5 DAF vans to Renault Master vans (including extra-long) and Kango vans (including Maxi van). The company is not afraid to invest in technology where it’s going to help the business. They have invested in Navman Wireless vehicle tracking technology as well as a driver behaviour monitoring system and Silent Witness forward facing cameras. Redhead Couriers plans to continue to increase and update its fleet of vehicles to accommodate the workload. The company additionally uses sub-contractors alongside its fleet, estimating that it has worked with over sixty different sub-contractors in the last twelve months.
Redhead Couriers became a member of Transport Exchange Group’s popular online platform, Courier Exchange in 2002, joining the association to provide itself with the ability to expand by utilising sub-contractors throughout the UK. To become a member Redhead Couriers had to have the relevant insurances for vehicles, goods and employees. As a member the company is fully accredited by Courier Exchange. Transport Exchange Group works alongside Redhead Couriers daily, and has benefitted the company by helping it to increase both its turnover, profit and its client base across the country.
Diector Andy Ling commented “Over the last 2 years our use of the Transport Exchange has increased dramatically. We originally saw it as great assistant for our business in covering jobs that we couldn’t by connecting us to the biggest network of owner drivers in the UK. This is still a great part of how we use Transport Exchange, however the improvements in fleet management have meant we can offer competitive rates for jobs primarily as back-loads for our own drivers. We have found our productivity has increased dramatically – as in our turnover vs. total mileage – so we are making more money for every mile we drive. We are always looking to expand and see Transport Exchange as helping us achieve that.”
Recently Redhead Couriers has expanded, seeing growth in both its staff members and the size of its fleet.
In regards to the future Redhead Couriers intends to continue to grow at a steady rate without compromising its high standard if service. The business hopes to expand across the country.
