Cargo Express Delivery was founded in November 2011 by Igors Gailiss and his father Jurijs Gailiss. The family-owned company operates from its head-quarters in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
As a specialist in providing a high quality same day courier service Cargo Express Delivery handles a wide variety of cargo on a daily basis, ranging from small envelopes to pallets (ambient only) to hanging garments.
The Bradford based business operates throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Cargo Express Delivery prides itself on its same day courier service which offers an impressive 45 minute collection time from most major towns in the UK. The company endeavours to provide a first rate courier service to its clients.
Since its establishment four years ago the business has grown exponentially, welcoming new staff members and increasing its fleet. Currently the business operates a fleet of modern Renault LWB vans. The company also uses large vans and HGV vehicles with both tail lifts and flat beds.
Director Igors Gailiss explains that the business is looking to obtain an operator’s license to continue expanding its fleet in the near future. The firm also utilises sub-contractors on a daily basis.
In February 2012 Cargo Express Delivery became a member of Courier Exchange to help cover its work using sub-contractors and to get return journeys for its own vehicles when they return empty.
Courier Exchange provides Cargo Express Delivery with an excellent network of contacts in the haulage industry as well as access to courier work available throughout the UK enabling them to maintain the 45 minutes collection time anywhere in the UK. The Exchange has also benefitted the company by enabling it to significantly reduce dead mileage.
Cargo Express Delivery has also began to develop a new customer online panel to reduce communication time and improve its ordering system for their customers.
In regards to future plans the business intends to transition from a courier company into being a haulage firm.
They plan to expand their customer base through their Courier Exchange membership and also via the expansion of their fleet by adding more HGVs.
Igor explains: “I’m using the Exchange on a daily basis to get back loads for my vans, and to sell loads to cover jobs from my customers. Without the Exchange we can’t really survive, because if you say no to your customer once, they may not come back to you again”.
He added: I am selling jobs because I know it needs to be done and done well. With the Exchange this is easy because jobs are being sold withing half a minute.”
